About

Let’s be clear, I am not a nomadic traveler exploring the far corners of this amazing hurdling sphere. I’m just a guy with a camera and an ego that thinks its got something to say. Sometimes what it expresses is visual, sometimes it is through words. Regardless, an ego’s got to do what an ego’s got to do.

By day I am a web developer, photographer and videographer. Code or composition, I stare at things a lot.

I cut my teeth in the world of fine art black and white photography. Medium- and large-format were my tools. Prepping 4×5 film holders before a photographic road trip with friends was a meditation above all others.

I spent countless hours, nay, days, nope, years, in my 25-square-foot darkroom that included my washing machine. I cranked out some beautiful split-toned jewels in that space. I have silver gelatin prints languishing in those expensive Light Impressions gallery boxes matted and ready to outlive me…while likely never seeing the light of day again.

I shifted to a toolbelt that include a 35mm DSLR shortly after decided I did not want to spend 8 hours or more of my sunny weekend day’s off in my shoebox-of-a-darkroom. I wanted to be outside to soak up the glorious rays of the sun. I wanted to be out paddling my kayak exploring this amazing central California coastline.

My passion does not testify to my IQ mind you. I can confirm that saltwater and electronics don’t mix. Nevertheless you can find me either in the water, on the water or photographing out into the water…sometimes you can find me under the water.

I am for hire. I take pictures and I write things about the pictures I take. See that form down at the bottom of this page? Have a project in mind? Do it.
